User-based Website Ratings
|
Wahoo! allows our visitors
the ability TO INDIVIDUALLY RATE ALL OUR LISTED WEBSITES.
If you are a webmaster of a site listed in the Wahoo! Comic Link Directory, you may be interested in the
"Remote Rate a Site" option that we have made available. An example of our remote rating form is shown
on the right side of this webpage.
This option allows you to place a rating form on your website in order to increase the number of
votes your site receives.
Please note that we WILL remove any site from our listings if we suspect there to be any cheating involved
with the Wahoo! Rate It! system. We will be monitoring the Rate It! submissions through both
routine checks by staff and user reportings. By being removed from the index, you'll lose more accesses than you ever
would have gained by falsely bolstering your Rate It! value.
Using a remote form will allow users to rate your website directly from your site and the rating will be recorded.
Our policies on the use of a remote rating form on your website are very strict. If we find a website
in violation of the acceptable terms, we have the right to block all incoming votes from the offending
website or remove your listing from the Wahoo! Comic Book Link Directory entirely.
The only voting mechanism allowed on a remote site is the form type shown below, ratings are on a scale of 1 to 10,
with 10 being the best possible rating and 1 being the worst possible rating
Basically, we require the default vote set to '--' and the user must be able to freely choose from 1 through 10.
Any site that we find that is attempting to submit all 10's or something similar when a user simply hits submit
will be in violation of the remote rating rules.
If we get significant user feedback, we will create other rating forms. If you wish to submit to us for consideration
a form that you custom made yourself, feel free, but make sure that it follows the basic guidelines set forth above.

Adding a remote rating form to your site
|
To implement a remote rating form for Wahoo! on your site, simply cut-and-paste the following code into
your HTML page and replace the string 'YOUR_SITE_ID_NUMBER' with the website ID that is used for you website in
the Wahoo! Comic Link Directory lsitings.
The string 'YOUR_SITE_ID_NUMBER' in the HTML source references the website ID number in Wahoo! Comic
Link Directory database. You should make sure you find your website in the Wahoo! listings,
then click on your site's 'Rate it!' link which will lead you to the correct ID number. The ID shown in the URL
of the page the appears when you have clicked on the "Rate It!" link for your site is your Wahoo! listing ID
For example, in the following URL, the Wahoo! website ID is 383
